As of May 10, 2010, PANTONE has replaced the well-known Matching System with the PANTONE Plus Series.
The new PANTONE PLUS Series retains all the classic colors of the PANTONE Matching System while building on its legendary success with exciting new colors and features.
The new PANTONE PLUS Color Bridge now contains:
- 224 new spot colors
- Chromatic arrangement of colors
- ColorChecker Primer for easy digital image color correction
The new PLUS SERIES COLOR BRIDGE provides process color simulations of all solid PANTONE Colors – including the 224 new solid colors – in a convenient side-by-side comparison format, on coated or uncoated stock. Can also be purchased as a set, in both coated and uncoated.
The new colors are printed using consistent ink film thicknesses, which makes them easily matched on press. All of the colors are printed on text weight paper, to more closely match color specification to today's printed work. All paper stocks used are FSC approved.
An invaluable multi-use color reference tool, the COLOR BRIDGE can be used to:
- select and specify solid PANTONE Colors
- determine how a PANTONE Color will appear when reproduced in CMYK
- create optimal display of PANTONE Colors on monitors and Web pages
HTML and sRGB values are provided, for applying color selections across media.
